How communication works between MatheTutors and MatheStudents
Messaging a tutor does not happen in a private inbox. It happens in a ticket channel the MatheCord team can see, which is what keeps both sides safe. Opening one takes about thirty seconds.
Keep the conversation there. Questions, scheduling and anything you need to sort out between sessions all stay in that ticket, so there is a record either side can point to. Sessions themselves run on Lessonspace or wherever your tutor prefers, and you pay them through their own payment link.

Filter by topic, price, country, language, time zone and the days you are actually free. Open the full profile and read it properly before you commit to anything.
Press Message
Their Discord name copies to your clipboard automatically and the ticket link opens. You do not need to write anything down or remember a username.
Paste the name into the ticket
One field, and that is the whole form. Add a line about what you need help with if you want to save time later.
The bot brings your tutor in
It reads the name, adds that tutor to your ticket and pings them. No chasing them down and no wondering whether they saw it.

What we do
The parts we are responsible for
- Host the directory and keep profiles current
- Review tutor and student communication through the ticket system
- Remove profiles when a subscription lapses
- Investigate reports of fraud or bad behaviour
- Run the community and provide the free practice worksheets
- Moderate tutor led workshops and help promote them
- Record Lessonspace sessions so both sides are covered
What we do not do
The parts that are down to you
- Vet tutors or run background checks on them
- Hold, process or refund session payments
- Set, cap or guarantee any tutor's price
- Schedule your sessions or chase anyone up
- Guarantee a grade or a particular result
- Take responsibility for anything agreed off platform
Read the profile, then ask. Tutors are independent educators, so request credentials before you book, check the reviews channel, and keep the conversation in the ticket. Anyone under 18 should have a parent or guardian supervising sessions. If something looks suspicious, open a support ticket and the MatheCord team will investigate.
